Happy New Year, everyone! Today’s Words of Wisdom Wednesday is about living a mindful life on a daily basis and how this concept led to my decision of no longer making New Year’s Resolutions. Toward the end of 2018, I began to feel an even greater sense of urgency to appreciate each moment and day that was given to me. These anxious-like feelings came as my sense of awareness grew because the more I realized how fragile life truly is, the greater sense of importance I placed on my day-to-day life. In today’s podcast episode, I discuss why I think that years beforehand were full of inadequate feelings since my focus was aimed at everything but the present moment.
As the new year begins, I want to invite everyone to explore their own intentions and how they navigate each day. Is there always some “goal” or accomplishment you seek to achieve? Are your accolades what you’re most proud of? Do you notice everything that’s happening in-between?
More than ever before, I believe that the magic and true essence of life happens in the dash. Because of this, I no longer prioritize something abstract, especially because it’s not guaranteed to happen. In conclusion, I realized that the fear of missing out on my life is far greater than my desire to achieve any particular goal.
