Today’s Words of Wisdom Wednesday is about how embracing and acknowledging my imperfections allowed me to feel more at peace. I also discuss how avoiding imperfections due to childhood messaging I received prevented me from enjoying my day-to-day life.
If I know one thing for sure, it is that we are going to stumble and sometimes, we’ll even fall. Life is not about the fact that you inevitably did what we’ll all do: make mistakes. The purpose of experiencing various life lessons is to strive for a better tomorrow knowing that you don’t have control over the things that took place yesterday. Consistently yearning to learn from these moments, instead of negating them is what it’s all about.
Much of what we suffer stems from our thoughts and perspectives. If we believe that the only alternative we have is to display perfection, we’ll feel pain when we’re confronted with a different reality. Instead of stumbling, we may even stay down because the idea of facing the world as imperfect human beings seems too great of a burden to wear.
This podcast episode was recorded with the intention of encouraging people to embrace vulnerability and all aspects of his/her self, even when that entails showing up with our fears in-hand.
