Joy and Cici UnfilteredIn this episode of Joy and Cici Unfiltered, we discuss our experiences as entrepreneurs and the various stages of healing after our breakups.

In honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we talk a lot about both the positive and negative aspects of entrepreneurship and what we’ve learned along the way. Setting an intention with your business has been something that we realized is fundamental because it has the ability to fuel you, especially as challenging circumstances arise.

We discuss the importance of bridging passion and self-discipline because as entrepreneurs, we’re the ones responsible for accountability since we’re free to make our own schedules and execute on tasks. Cici B. and I share different moments in our journey as examples to show the various sides of entrepreneurship. Becoming an entrepreneur is not a “get rich quick” scheme and requires a plethora of consistency and patience. As Cici mentions in this episode: “consistency will beat talent any day.” Sporadically delivering projects and content doesn’t build trust between an entrepreneur and their audience and/or customer, which is why it’s important to be diligent about their expectations.

In this episode of Joy and Cici Unfiltered, you’ll also hear us answer questions submitted by our audience regarding relationships. In particular, we talk about how we each healed after our breakups. I share how I used anger in my favor because I found that it motivated me to do different things. Cici shares how important it was for her to heal through self-awareness and not relying on anything external during her recovery process. Although the meaning of “closure” varies for different people, we give our perspective on this topic and how we each face this aspect of our relationship in different ways.

Another question that was submitted to Joy and Cici Unfiltered was about “red flags” and what to look out for when you first start dating someone. Cici B. discusses an experience she had with someone that revealed their true nature, which led to her ending the relationship and realizing that certain characteristics make her feel controlled. I talk about my desire for men to show that they’re self-aware and unafraid to have vulnerable conversations that show they’re comfortable self-reflecting. As usual, we find sarcasm and humor in our stories while introducing different perspectives to scenarios. We hope this episode not only inspires you, but entertains you as well!
